Vintage 1940s Unused Embroidered Pink Silk Blouse NOS Chinese Store Size M L

This is a wonderful 1940s era embroidered pink silk blouse, unused old stock that came from a Chinese clothing store that was in business from the 1940s until the 1980s.  The blouse is beautifully made and of excellent quality - Chinese hand embroidery and silk of that period was quite superb.  The blouse has shoulder pads, typical of the 40s era, rounded “jewel” neckline, short sleeves and scalloped finished edges.  The bottom of the blouse has tucks, which give the blouse an accented waist.  It has five mother of pearl buttons.  The size, which is handwritten as 40 on a piece of fabric, is sewn with a single stitch onto the centre front (see last close-up photo) - unusual, but definitely a sign of the age of the blouse.

Sizing: Size 40 is indicated, and although this should fit a medium to large size, please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 17” across the shoulders from one shoulder/sleeve seam to the other 

Bust:  40” around, shouldn’t fit too tightly  

Waist:  37”

Length:  23”, measured flat

Condition: It is in excellent condition as it was never used and stored well over the last 75 or so years.
