Vintage 1940s Rayon Fabric Silkscreened Floral Chintz 5 yds+

Vintage 1940s Rayon Fabric Silkscreened Floral Chintz 5 yds+

$195.00

This is a length of vintage 1940s rayon fabric, unused and suitable for sewing.  This 1940s rayon fabric is silkscreened with a floral chintz pattern is vivid colours of yellow, green, blue, red and dropped out white against a maroon / burgundy background colour.  It is the type of fabric that they used to make ladies’ dressing gowns out of.  The piece measures 6 and 2/3 yards in length and 52” in width.  There is a misprint at one end (see last close-up photo of blue bar), which eliminates the last 35” of full width - you could salvage a shorter width yard of fabric, but not counting the misprint, you would have 5.65 yards of 52” wide fabric.  The fabric is in excellent condition as it is unused, but there is some fraying to the edge of one side of the length that won’t cause much loss at all.   The lot number “262611-9804” appears at one edge.  The print is as vibrant on one side as on the other side.  I couldn’t photograph the whole width, so I photographed it folded in half - the other half is printed just like the half that is pictured.

This type of 1940s rayon fabric is practically never seen in yardage like this - fabulous fabric to make a new 1940s dressing gown!
