This is a 1940s raccoon fur coat made for Simpsons, which was a Canadian department store. This 1940s raccoon fur coat is made with a shawl collar that can be worn up or down - you can either leave the top button undone for an open neckline or done up to protect the neck. It has padded shoulders, wide cut sleeves with defined cuffs, a two button and loop closure (aside from the neck button). It has a slash pocket at either side. The coat is lined in satin fabric across the upper and a plaid wool across the lower.
Label: Simpson’s. Simpson’s was a Canadian department store chain founded in 1858. The style of the Simpson’s script was used before 1957.
