Vintage 1940s Mens Sweater Striped Pullover Canada Size M

This is a wonderful vintage 1940s mens sweater (possibly a later earlier or a later later) made in a pullover style.  This vintage 1940s mens sweater is made in a heavier weight fisherman’s rib stitch in maroon coloured wool with grey and goldenrod stripes around the middle, the bottom and the cuffs.  It has a notched shawl collar with a button and loop closure - the loop, however is detached and I’m not sure about its placement to be functional, although I doubt that you’d ever want to wear the collar closed, but you do have the option of re-doing the button and loop.  There are no pockets and it is unlined.  I posed this vintage 1940s mens sweater with cuffs turned, but this is optional.

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this vintage 1940s mens sweater should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking note that there is stretch to the knit:

Shoulders: 15” across, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves: 24” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam with the cuff unturned

Sleeve Inseam: 21 1/2” long

Chest: 44” around, taken under the arms, could stretch out to 47”

Bottom: 34” around unstretched, 40” stretched

Overall length: 28”, taken at the back from the neck seam

Condition: Aside from the button and loop issue, this vintage 1940s mens sweater is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour.  Amazing for an item of its type and age. 

This is a rare vintage 1940s mens sweater - you’d be hard pressed to find a similar one, excellent quality and look!
