Vintage 1940s Handbag Lantern Shaped Navy Leather Normandie Montreal

This is an unusual sculptural vintage 1940s handbag by Normandie, Montreal. This bag features a panelled, lantern or amphora-shaped silhouette in deep navy blue leather, nearly black in tone, with lighter blue visible subtly along the seams / edges.

The structured cylindrical collar is finished with a brass-tone metal frame and clasp closure. The interior is lined in navy satin with decorative gathered trim and two interior pocket.s

Condition: In very good condition with the exception of missing leather to the top of the cylindrical collar (see photo). Light surface wear and minor scratches/scuffs consistent with age. Interior is clean. No structural damage noted.

Despite the minor wear and missing leather at the top, this is a fabulous vintage 1940s handbag - sure to be noticed!
