Vintage 1940s Fur Jacket Sheared Beaver Ladies Size M
$150.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a wonderful 1940s fur jacket or short coat - it possibly may date to the late 1930s given the small “puff” at the sleeve top. This 1940s fur jacket has large padded squared shoulders, a small shirt-type collar, long full cut sleeves with turned cuffs and is cut with a slight flare to the hemline. This 1940s fur jacket closes with a button at the neckline (optional) and a hook and eye at the bust area - there are no closures further down. It is fully lined in a brown striped satin fabric. There is a pocket built into either side.
Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1940s fur jacket, but it should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fur and the style of the jacket into account:
Shoulders: 15 1/2” across from shoulder sleeve seam to shoulder sleeve seam plus another 1” across either shoulder cap
Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam: 16”
Bust: 44” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 42”
Hemline: 55” around, measured flat, laid out straight
Overall length: 28“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This 1940s fur jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling or odour. Beaver, like all water inhabiting fur, is very robust and should last for years with normal care, as evidenced by the condition of this 80+ year old coat.
This is a wonderful 1940s fur jacket - super style, sure to be noticed!
