This is a 1940s or 50s vintage tuxedo tails / formal tailcoat. These vintage tuxedo tails are made in classic form with padded shoulders, no closure, cut away front with six buttons, two buttons at the back and a two buttons at either cuff. It has black faille (grosgrain) peaked lapels. It is fully lined in black satin viscose and the exterior fabric is a lightweight black worsted wool. Note that there are no pants included, only the vintage tuxedo tails.
Label: Bond Tailored-To-Measure Stores Across Canada. The Bond Clothes retail store chain was founded in Cleveland in 1914. The original store grew into a chain of 150 stores by the 1960s and had manufacturing facilities employing 2500 people during the 1930s. Its executive offices and flagship store were located on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

Sizing: There is no size label on these vintage tuxedo tails and although these should fit a small size (US 34-36), please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric into consideration):
Shoulders: 18 1/2” across shoulder seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 24 1/2” from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 18” long
Chest: 39” around, taken under the arms with a normal gap - note that suit jacket sizes are normally 3”-4” smaller than chest measurement
Waist: 35” around, with a normal gap
Overall length: 43 1/2“ at the back, measured flat
Condition: These vintage tuxedo tails are in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or staining - it looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
