This is a lovely satin lounging robe or dressing gown that dates to the late 1930s or early 1940s. The robe has a small gathered “puff” at the top of the sleeve, in typical late 30s style, with small pads - note the quality of the pad (see last close-up photo). It is made of a beautiful green satin fabric, with a dusty rose pink coloured panel on either side of the opening. The robe is cut with a flare to the bottom so that the fabric falls beautifully in drapes. The cuffs of the sleeves are also trimmed in the same dusty rose colour. There is a patch pocket applied to the right side. It is made in a full length and is unlined. There is no closure or loops for a belt - because it is cut so fully there is a natural overlap. It is possible that this was meant to not securely close, so as to easily reveal whatever one would be wearing underneath.
