Vintage 1930s Long Dress Orange Velvet Evening Gown Bias Cut with Lace Size M

This product is unavailable
This is a vintage 1930s dress made of a quality velvet in a striking orange colour. The dress is styled in a full length bias cut with V shaped neckline, both to the front and back, raised inverted V waistline, short “puff” sleeves and lace trimmed panels cascading down either side. The lace trim is backed with netting (see close-up photo to view netted backing). The back neckline is also trimmed with lace. The dress has openings and simply fits over the head.
Label: no label
Color: Orange - this is a gorgeous rich tone of orange, quite bright with lighting on it
Fabric: Velvet - beautiful quality, very soft to the touch.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although the dress should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping in mind that the dress has to fit over the head:
Shoulders: 15” approximately, depending on angle width of the open neckline
Bust: 36” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 29” around, taken at the natural wais
Hips: 36” around
Length: 61 1/2”
Condition: The dress is in very good condition with a few issues - a small patch repair to the back right near the side, about 3” from the hemline (see last two close-up photos), a few marks and matte spots to the velvet and a couple of separations to the velvet, not quite holes, but in danger of becoming tears, visible when inspecting with a light behind the fabric, but that aren’t really under noticeable normal viewing, It would be a good idea to apply an iron-on reinforcement patch on those separations. I provided a close-up photo also of the area across the upper back where there is velvet - looks like this may have been caused by it being stored with a belt or other object pressed against it. Otherwise, the dress has no other wear, tear, stains or odours, is clean and ready to wear.
Despite the problems, this is a lovely dress - fabulous colour and style!
