Condition

Overall in very good condition. The binding is clean and attractive with bright gilt decoration and only light signs of handling. The hinges are sound and the text block remains tight.

The original owner's name is written on the front endpaper. Two pages show a light stain caused by a card that was stored between them for many years. Aside from this localized blemish, the pages are generally clean with only light age toning, and the illustrations remain crisp and attractive.

A lovely collectible copy of one of Ernest Thompson Seton's enduring wildlife classics, appealing to collectors of illustrated books, natural history, children's literature, and early twentieth-century Americana.
