This is an embroidered silk chemise, probably originally part of a pyjama set, that dates to the 1920s.  It is made in a simple sleeve form with V shaped neckline and ties at the sides that are used to cinch the waist back in order to accentuate the waistline.  The bodice is finely embroidered as are the inserts at either side of the bottom (see close-up photos).  The bottom of the piece is scallop finished.

Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a small to a medium to large size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, noting that the chemise has no closures and simply fits over the head:

Chemise:

Bust:  35”, taken at the armpits

Waist:  34”, but meant to be cinched smaller depending on the drawstring adjustment 

Length:  23 1/2”, measured flat

Condition: It is in very clean condition, with no wear, tear, soiling staining or odour - this looks like it saw little to no use.

This is an easy to wear piece - could easily be used as a regular top now!
