This is a roll of ribbed velvet fabric made during the Panton design era, late 1960s through to the 1970s. The fabric has a centre band consisting of multiple stripes in tones of orange, ochre gold, rust red and black against a black background. It has a selvedge to one side, but not on the other. There is a little over 4 yards of material with a width of 30 1/2”, including the 1” selvedge. There is 8 3/4” of black area to the right of the centre striping and over 10” to the left - the centre striping has a width of 9 7/8”, so you could easily create a 27 3/8” wide symmetrical panel. Wonderful fabric to recreate the 70s!
