This is a wonderful modernist piece that can be worn both as a brooch or as a pendant, signed Panetta on the back.  There is a pin as well as a loop on the back.  The piece is prong set with three light blue glass stones and a number of clear rhinestones on a gold toned metal.  The form is quite beautiful - very interesting lines and shape.  It measures 3 1/8” by 1 5/8”.  It is in very good condition with no observable wear, repair or replaced stones.  It comes with a fine link gold plated chain.

Panetta was founded in 1945 in New York City by Beneditto Panetta who had been a fine jeweller while in Italy.  His sons worked with him and continued the company until the late 80s, when it was sold, eventually closing its doors in 1995.  Panetta was known for high quality, with attention to detail in replicating the look of fine jewelry.  Their jewelry was limited in production and high priced for costume jewelry, so examples are highly collectible and sought after.

This is an exceptional example of Panetta jewelry - great addition to a collection!
