This Ossie Clark era Radley of London mini dress by dates to the early 1970s, during the era when the label became internationally recognized through its collaboration with designer Ossie Clark, known for his fluid, body-skimming silhouettes and bold use of colour.

Made in England, the dress is cut from a lightweight pebbled fabric known as moss crepe, with a soft, slightly textured surface and a gentle drape. It features a fitted bodice with a deep V-neckline, olive green button closures down the upper front, a sleeveless cut, and a short A-line skirt that falls above the knee — a hallmark of early ’70s London fashion. The tone is a vivid acid yellow, a lively chartreuse or lemon-lime shade that captures the youthful energy of the period. The dress fastens with a centre-back zip and is fully lined.

While not signed “Ossie Clark for Radley,” the construction, cut, and materials are consistent with designs produced during Clark’s tenure with Radley (1968–1974) - Radley had come to the financial rescue of Ossie Clark’s Quorum Boutique and consequently Clark would allow Radley to make commercially viable garments based on his sketches.

While Radley produced designs by several young British talents, this piece reflects the clean, minimalist direction that complemented the more romantic Ossie Clark collections under the same house. It’s a bright, confident look typical of Radley’s early-’70s ready-to-wear line.
