Original Vintage Punk T Shirt w Zippers Blue Petrol London c 1976

This is an original vintage punk t shirt bought in London during the 1970s by the lady from whom I acquired it - she was there as a young punk in 1976 /77 at the birth of the movement.  The t-shirt reads “Blue Petrol” on the front and has two zippers affixed.  The back of the t-shirt is printed with “BZ ZZZZZ!” and with yellow and black splatters.  The arm openings are lined with a semi-transparent blue vinyl material. Blue Petrol is a British term for a greyish blue tone, popularly used in fashion, including punk fashion at that time.  This certainly has all of the hallmarks of punk design and may have something to do with Seditionaries or a similar punk design shop. The original label is missing, but you can see the remnant.  There is no size label and although this should fit a ladies' medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the t-shirt into consideration:

Shoulders:  15” across the top

Chest:  36” around, taken under the arms, stretches out

Waist:  32” around, but stretches

Overall length:  24”, measured flat 

Condition:  It is in very good condition - one small hole at the bottom front, really very acceptable given the age and type of t-shirt that this is.
