Mid Century Elka Serving Bowl Jaroslav Ježek Design Marianne

$85.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This porcelain Elka serving bowl is part of the award winning line designed by Jaroslav Ježek (1923–2002), a leading Czech modernist designer. Produced during the 1950s–1960s in Czechoslovakia, the Elka form is admired for its sleek, futuristic lines, capturing the essence of mid-century modern design.

The decoration on this Elka serving bowl is the Marianne pattern, featuring stylized floral motifs in soft gray, green, and orange, highlighted with a fine gilt rim. This decoration appears on Elka-shape tableware and matches the Elka coffee service that was distributed under the Fine Bohemian China mark rather than the Pirkenhammer factory name, reflecting the postwar practice of Czechoslovak porcelain export branding.
