This is a pair of Liselotte Strelow portrait photos, printed on Agfa photographic paper and dating to the mid-20th century. Each black and white portrait measures approximately 4 3/8" x 5 7/8" and captures the distinctive clarity and tonal sensitivity for which Liselotte Strelow is celebrated.

Liselotte Strelow portrait photos are widely collected for their refined modernist composition. Strelow (1908–1981) studied under Suse Byk before establishing her own studio in 1938 and re-establishing one in Düsseldorf in 1950. Her work gained national recognition when her portrait of President Theodor Heuss was chosen for German postage stamps. She later photographed renowned figures including Konrad Adenauer, Maria Callas, Jean Cocteau, and Marlene Dietrich.

These particular Liselotte Strelow portrait photos depict the children of a German businessman. While their identities are unknown, the images reflect Strelow’s mastery of light and emotion in portraiture.

Condition:

These Liselotte Strelow portrait photos are ideal for collectors of vintage photography, mid-century German art, or anyone seeking original studio portraiture with historical depth.
