Vintage Jean Muir Dress - Black Rayon Jersey w Pink Sequins
This vintage Jean Muir dress features deep pink coloured sequins across the top of the bodice, both front and back, and at the cuffs of the sleeves. It has pads in the shoulders and a long fitted silhouette with flared skirt that hangs in drapes, typical of late 1970s to early 1980s design. It is made in a full length style with long sleeves. It has a high rounded neckline, sleeve that tapers at the cuff and pleating at the upper sleeve (see close-up photo). The fabric of the dress has good weight and falls beautifully and has some transparency, so a slip might be recommended. The dress fastens at back with a nylon zipper.

About the Designer: Made in England and designed by Jean Muir under her “Jean Muir London” label. Jean Muir is considered one of Britain’s greatest fashion designers. She studied fashion sketching at St Martin’s School of Art while working at Liberty, and went on to work at Jacqmar and then Jaeger. After designing for the Jane & Jane label for four years, she started a label under her own name in 1966 (Bio gleaned from the Vintage Fashion Guild).
