This is a pair of vintage Converse L/T sneakers designed by baseball great Lou Brock in 1969. They appear to have never been worn, but were kept in storage in a bag with other items. The soles demonstrate no wear, the laces are clean as are the canvas uppers, except for a tiny light brown spot to the left front of the right shoe that probably would clean off - I assume that this happened while being handled or in storage. The right insole has a couple of dark marks *see last close-up photo), but otherwise, the insoles are very clean. There is a greyish delineation where the rubber lower meets the canvas (see photos) probably from glue, but this seems to be standard for old stock like this. There is also some blackish marking around the edge of the right sole, but again, this should clean up, and is very minor in any case. The shoes were a little flattened while in storage, but they will be fine when on the foot. They are marked as a size 11 1/2. The insole measures 12” in length while the soles measure 12 3/8” in length and have a width of 3 7/8” at the widest. All in all, a very nice pair of vintage Converse Lou Brock model sneakers ….note the interesting construction of the soles, which were meant to give traction, I guess, when stealing bases!
