Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Vase Flowers and Bird 7 1/4 Tall

Brand Etsy

This is a Chinese cloisonn vase featuring a floral design in white, green, brown and blue with touches of yellow against a brownish red background colour. There is a single bird at one side. The piece has a circular border typical of Chinese cloisonn, which consists of a number of inverted clover shaped motifs known as Ruyies, the Ruyie being the Chinese Imperial symbol. Im unsure of its age, but Etsy forces us to choose a decade, and my best guess would be pre-war, maybe 1920s or 30s. It is well made - very solid and appears to be of good quality. The blue counter enamel on the underside is smooth, typical of Chinese production. The piece measures 7 1/4 in height. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear - there are some white specks, mostly on the sides that appear to be original to the firing and barely noticeable under normal viewing and only apparent in the close-up photos, so shouldnt bother anyone too greatly. The front is unaffected. Lovely display piece.
