Beauceware Quebec Pottery Spongeware Teapot Jean Cartier Signed Beauce C-3163 1972

Brand Etsy

This is a Beauceware pottery teapot made to resemble antique spongeware yelloware. This is Cramique de Beauce model number C-3163, produced in 1972 as part of a three piece set that included a sugar bowl and creamer/milk pitcher. It is fairly large, measuring 8 in height. It is marked on the underside with the cb logo and with, Cartier for Jean Cartier who was an important Quebec pottery designer who designed many pieces for Cramique de Beauce. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear.
This is a very nice example of Cartier design - it doesnt appear to be very common, so it would be a nice acquisition for the Beauceware collector!
