Arabia Finland Demitasse Cup Magenta Red Landscape Transfer Ware Cabin Castle

This is a demitasse cup and saucer made by Arabia of Finland, depicting a cabin on one side and a castle on the other - I guess that there a message there somewhere, but Im not sure of what it is, rags to riches maybe. It is part of the Red Landscape series (Punainen Miasma), produced by Arabia from 1936 until 1975 and designed by Reinhard Richter. The Landscape series was introduced to compete in export markets with British transfer ware. The set is printed using a copper engraving - the cup has a floral interior and the saucer has a floral rim. The saucer has a scalloped edge. It is a small demitasse, holding 4 oz of liquid right to the top rim. The saucer measures 4 1/8 in diameter while the cup has a diameter of 2 1/2 and a height of 1 1/2. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, scratches or wear. Nice addition to a collection of smalls or to an Arabia collection..
