This is an antique milk jug or syrup made of fine porcelain. It is decorated with hand painted flowers on the front and back and with gold foliate and a gold bird - I assume that the gold is transfer printed, but may have been hand applied, Im unsure. The piece is unmarked, so Im also unsure of its origin - to me, it looks Prussian, but possibly French. The jug measures 5 1/4 in height to the top of the lids finial and has a bottom diameter of 3 1/8. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear - there is a small firing fissure to the inside lip, but this is original to the manufacture of the piece. This is a delicate piece of porcelain, very pretty and displays very wellbeautiful quality!
