$110.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is an antique porcelain bowl dating to around 1900, beautifully decorated in the RS Germany style. The interior features large pink and yellow roses surrounded by smaller blossoms and sprays of gilt detail. The scalloped rim is finished in an iridescent pastel border of pink, green, and lavender with hand-applied gilding along the edge.

The underside of this antique porcelain bowl bears a stamped “GERMANY / 2” mark within a circle, an export backstamp used by several German porcelain makers in the Thuringia region during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This type of bowl was typically produced for export to the North American market and is a fine example of antique German decorative porcelain.

Dimensions:
Diameter: 11” across the top, including the rim

Height: 3 1/2”

Condition: This antique porcelain bowl is very good condition with the exception of a small chip to the bottom rim of the base, mostly to the interior, but slightly noticeable from the exterior.  Also, there may be a paint skip, but this is original to the manufacture (please see photos).

This is a striking antique porcelain bowl - beautiful display piece for a china cabinet, Victorian décor, or a roses collection.
