Antique English Majolica Pottery Syrup Jug

This is a lovely majolica pottery syrup jug, unmarked, most likely of English origin. This syrup jug is decorated with a raised basketweave pattern in off-white around its bulbous bottom and has a blue glazed ribbed pattern over the upper that has a raised leaf pattern in green with pink tips. The handle is glazed in brown and has raised bumps that help with the grip of the piece. It has a hinged pewter lid that has a thumb pull. The jug measures 4 1/2" in height, exclusive of the thumb pull. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or pronounced wear. Nice piece of antique majolica - wonderful addition to a syrup jug collection!
