This is an Anglo-Irish cut glass compote that dates to the early to mid 19th century circa 1820–1840. The oval bowl sits on a pedestal and is richly decorated with deep wheel-cut motifs including strawberry diamond panels, oval punties, and stylized leaf and fruit patterns. The notched rim and the thick fluted square base are hallmarks of Georgian to early Victorian glass craftsmanship.
This heavy lead crystal Anglo-Irish cut glass compote weighs 6 lbs 10 oz and is ideal as a fruit centerpiece, floral display, or simply as a collector’s piece of historical Irish glass artistry.
