This is a wonderful vintage tuxedo mens formal wear suit dating to the late 50s or very early 60s. This vintage tuxedo is made in a black mohair and wool blend with padded shoulders, shawl lapels, jetted side pockets, chest pocket, single link button closure and with a single button at either cuff. The shawl collar and cuffs are in silk satin and there is a silk satin stripe down either leg. It is half lined in black satin viscose. The pants to this vintage tuxedo have a flat front, nylon zipper fly, a pocket built into either side and two back pockets.
Jacket label: Priestley’s Imported Nor-East Non Crush Regd. Canada No. NS 9838. Priestley’s Nor-East was woven in England with a blend of the finest angora mohair and Australian wool worsted
Retailer label: Goodman’s Men’s Furnishings Montreal.
Tailor’s label (on pants): Armand Boudrias Ltee Votre Tailleur Montreal 39C 33 Short. A second label reads “Warning Contains Mohair Press Lightly with Cool Iron”. It is possible that the pants to this vintage tuxedo were an “add-on”, but they do match practically perfectly.
Union label: ACWA (Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America) used between 1949 and 1962
Sizing: The size tag on this vintage tuxedo jacket indicates size 39 with a 33” waist, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Sleeves: 25 1/2” from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 17”
Chest: 42” around (jacket measurement is always 3”-4” larger than chest)
Waist: 40”

Leg Inseam: 27” long - there is 1 3/4” of fabric inside the hem
Overall length: 38 1/2“
Condition: This vintage tuxedo is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours. It looks like it saw very little use.
