This is a large vintage 1950s teddy bear made by Dean’s Rag Book Co. Ltd., one of Britain’s oldest and most respected toy manufacturers. The bear dates to circa 1957–1961, confirmed by the woven cloth label featuring the two dogs tugging a rag on one side and the words “Dean’s Childsplay Babysafe” on the reverse.

This 1950s teddy bear measures 21 inches in length laid out straight and is fully jointed at the arms, legs, and head, allowing for posing. It is covered in golden plush consisting of mohair and wool with velveteen paw pads, stitched claws, amber-and-black glass eyes, and a hand-stitched nose and mouth.

Condition: This 1950s teddy bear is in excellent condition with bright plush, intact stitching, and original features well preserved. Minimal wear, nothing of note.

This is a fine example of a mid-century Dean’s bear, large in size and in outstanding condition!
