1950s 60s Vintage Suit Custom Tailored Silicani Tailors 28”W
This men’s custom tailored 1950s 60s vintage suit was made by Aldo & Celso Silicani of Montreal, located at 231 St. Zotique E.. The craftsmanship and cut of this piece suggest a date of circa 1958 — a transitional period between the broader, padded silhouettes of the early 1950s and the slimmer, more modern lines of the early 1960s.
The suit is made from a medium-weight navy blue wool, hand tailored with clean structure and minimal ornamentation. The jacket features padded shoulders, a three-button front, high set narrow notched lapels, a single rear vent, and a full rayon lining. The trousers have a high rise, button fly, flat front, and slim straight leg, typical of late 1950s custom tailoring.
