Vintage 1940s Tooke Executive silk paisley necktie red blue

Vintage 1940s Necktie Tooke Executive Silk Paisley Swing Era Tie

$110.00

This vintage necktie dates to the 1940s and features an all-over paisley pattern in shades of burgundy red, powder blue, white, and black (please note that the colours may be redder and less creamy than shown in the photos). The dramatic paisley motif and exceptionally wide blade are classic characteristics of men's neckwear from the Swing Era.

The tie retains its original Real Silk Executive by Tooke label. Tooke was one of Canada's best-known menswear manufacturers during the twentieth century, producing quality neckwear and clothing for the Canadian market. The colour combination is particularly attractive, with the bright blue paisley elements standing out beautifully against the deep wine-coloured ground.

Silk examples from the Swing Era are less common than rayon examples, and this tie has especially wonderful patterning and proportions.

Measurements

Width at widest point: 5 1/4 inches
Length: 51 inches

Condition

In very good condition. The colours remain bright and attractive, and the tie presents beautifully. I note one very small light brown spot that has not been treated or cleaned but is minor and does not detract from display or wear. I would assume that a good dry cleaner may be able to remove this. An original period dry-cleaning ticket remains attached to the tie. Please review all photographs carefully.

Summary

A wonderful genuine 1940s Tooke Executive real silk paisley necktie, with Swing Era proportions, rich burgundy and blue colouring, and its original period dry-cleaning ticket still attached.
