This vintage Clarice Cliff plate was produced at the Newport Pottery Co., England, during the post-war years (1940s-50s). The design features a bold hand-painted magnolia bloom in shades of pink with a yellow centre and green foliage, finished on a softly scalloped rim.
The underside carries the mark “Genuine Handpainted, Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery Co. England”, a backstamp used from the late 1930s through the 1950s. Unlike the geometric Bizarre patterns of the 1920s and 30s, this Clarice Cliff plate represents Cliff’s later floral dinnerware ranges, which combined her artistic direction with practical domestic ware.

Condition: This Clarice Cliff plate is in very good condition. No cracks or repairs, just a small brownish glaze inclusion near the rim that probably could be bleached out (see last close-up photo)
