This is an antique German porcelain half-doll, dating to 1910–1925, featuring the “hands-away” pose, with both arms gracefully raised and the hands held free of the body.

The doll is fashioned in glazed white porcelain with delicately hand-painted facial features, including large blue eyes, softly rouged cheeks, fine eyebrows and small red lips. Her head is slightly inclined.

One of her most distinctive features is her elaborate long blonde wig, arranged in soft curls and ringlets that fall over her shoulders and down her back. The wig is constructed from a fine, pale blonde fibre, possibly mohair, and retains its original-style curled arrangement, although it has become a little dishevelled with age. A fine net foundation / head band is visible beneath the hair at the forehead.

Her slender arms are beautifully posed, with one hand raised beside her head and the other extended outward, palm upward. The delicate, individually modelled hands and gracefully curved arms give the figure an elegant appearance.

The porcelain body has a shaped waist and flares outward at the base, where small holes are provided for attaching a fabric skirt or pincushion. Half-dolls of this type were popular decorative accessories during the early 20th century, frequently incorporated into pincushions, powder-puff holders and other boudoir accessories.

The lower back is impressed 6186 Germany, confirming German manufacture. Four-digit numbers starting in the "6000s" are regularly attributed to Fasold & Stauch (Bock-Wallendorf, Thuringia, Germany), known for its quality porcelain half dolls, although I can't attribute a maker with absolute certainty.

Condition: Very good condition with no pronounced wear, chips, cracks or other notable defects to the porcelain. The blonde wig shows some age-related disarrangement and loose fibres. Please examine the photographs carefully.

This is an appealing example of an early German porcelain half-doll, particularly desirable for its expressive blue-eyed face, elaborate blonde wig and graceful hands-away pose.
