Vintage 1970s Black Dress with Long Vest Luv Inc Elvia Sz M

This is a wonderful early 1970s black dress with long vest designed by Elvia For Luv Inc.  The vest is woven in a geometric pattern in tones of red, pink and orange on a black knit background.  The 1970s black dress has a high neckline that can be folded over like a turtleneck.  It has full cut sleeves with a small puff at the shoulder - the sleeves drape at the double button cuff.  The 1970s black dress is form fitting and has three decorative raised rows around its bottom.  It does up the back with a zipper while the vest does up with lacing at the front. 

Label:  Both the 1970s black dress and vest have a label that reads Luv Inc. Elvia with what looks like a double heart logo.  Luv Inc. was a trademark owned by Lyndale Sportswear of Montreal.. Elvia was Elvia Gobbo of Montreal, involved in fashion design from 1967, co-proprietor of boutique “Lionel and Elvia” and then co-designer for the brand “Luv Inc” from about 1970 until early 1974, when she left for Les Mouches and subsequently, in 1977, for Malcolm Starr. 

Material:  No content labels, but the 1970s black dress appears to be 100% stretchy polyester jersey while the vest appears to be a cotton or wool blend, maybe acrylic, I’m really not sure.

Size: This 1970s black dress and vest set should fit a medium size.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit taking the style of the dress into account:

1970s black dress:

Shoulders: 14 1/2“ across, seam to seam - note that the shoulder cap would fit into the puff of the top of the sleeve, so actual width is a little larger

Sleeves: 28" long from shoulder seam stretched out - the cuff would tighten around the wrist, so that the sleeve would drape, so length is less than indicated

Bust: 34" around unstretched, but easily stretches out to 36”

Waist: 25" around unstretched, but easily stretches out to 30”

Hips: 31" around unstretched, but easily stretches out to 36” 

Length: 46", measured lying flat from the neck seam

Vest:  

Bust:  35” depending on front gap - could be larger with a larger gap

Waist:  37” depending on gap

Length:  43” measured flat

Condition:  Both the 1970s black dress and vest are in excellent condition with no stains, wear or tear - the label on the dress in detached on one end and curled and one of the buttons on the left cuff is missing.
