Vintage 70s Raincoat by Marielle Fleury Rainmaster Canada 12

$85.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a very nice quality vintage 70s raincoat designed by Marielle Fleury for Rainmaster - Fleury is considered to have been one of the most influential Canadian designers.  This 70s raincoat is made of a water resistant brown fabric that feels like a poplin canvas.  It is fully lined in copper red acetate and has raglan styled long sleeves with a belt at each cuff.  This 70s raincoat has small squared collar that can be worn up or down.  It has a five button closure, the lower four buttons hidden by an overflap.  There is a slash pocket at either side and loops under the collar that would be used for holding a scarf in place. There are buttons for an added thermal lining, but there is no lining supplied with it.

Label: Rainmaster by Marielle Fleury Made in Canada.  Rainmaster was a trademark of Sport Togs, which hired Fleury in 1969 to design a line under her own name.

Union label:  ILGWU - International Ladies Garment Workers Union Canadian label that was used between 1968 and 1984.

Sizing: Size is indicated on the “repeats” tag on this 70s raincoat, and although this should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit:

Sleeve:  30” long from the mid-neck seam

Sleeve inseam:  16 1/2”

Bust:  43”, around

Waist:  44” around

Length:  43”, measured flat

Condition:  This 70s raincoat is in very clean condition with no pronounced wear, tear or stains - this appears to have seen little use and was well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a wonderful 70s raincoat - great acquisition for the Canadian fashion collector or just a simple, well made, piece for Spring or Fall rain!
