Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage 1970s blue wool coat made in France under the Cocher Royal brand name.  This 1970s blue wool coat has narrow high set notched lapels, a four button front closure, button down belts at the cuffs and a button down flapped pocket at either side.  There is a 13” kick vent at the bottom back.  There is decorative stitching along most edges and the wool is in a lovely lighter tone of blue.  This 1970s blue wool coat is meant for cool fall temperatures but not harsh cold.

Label: Cocher Royal 100% Laine Vierge Impermeabilisée (100% impermeable virgin wool) - this fabric is treated to be rain resistant.  A seal also appears on the label that reads “Fabrication Francaise VMC”, which means that all components were made in France, including the materials.

Fabric:  Twill finished wool in a medium weight lined in acetate

Sizing: There is no size label, and although this 1970s blue wool coat should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please take the style of the coat and thickness of the fabric into consideration):

Shoulders:  15 1/2” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  22” long from the shoulder seam - bracelet length sleeves

Sleeve inseam: 15”

Bust: 38” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  39” around

Hips:  42” around, meant to fall loosely

Overall length: 37“, measured flat at the back, taken from the neck seam

Condition: This 1970s blue wool coat is in very good condition with no wear, tear, holes, stains or odours, except for some slight discolouration to the lining, quite minor - otherwise, it looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a wonderful 1970s blue wool coat, excellent French quality and attractive 70s design!
