Vintage 1960s Sailing Windbreaker Jacket Yellow Cotton by Joe Maisel Miami Beach
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a very attractive yellow colored vintage windbreaker jacket dating to the late 1960s or early 70s. It looks to me like it was meant for use while sailing - the label reads “Joe Maisel Miami Beach”. I think that the fabric is a “cotton duck” - a lightweight cotton linen. It is unlined. The jacket has a narrow standing collar, does up with a heavy duty Talon metal zipper with circular pull ring, has drawstrings around the bottom, elasticized cuffs, has two button-down flapped patch pockets, on at either bottom side front, and has decorative black stitching overall.
Sizing: Size L for large is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurements to similar jacket that you might own):
Shoulders: 19” across from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 24” long from shoulder/sleeve seam to cuff
Sleeve Inseam: 20” long
Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 46” around, uncinched by the drawstrings
Overall length: 25 1/2“, measured flat
Condition: This windbreaker is in excellent condition, with the exception of a small light mark on the left pocket (see close-up photo) - I have not tried to remove this, but it is quite minor in any case. Otherwise, this jacket looks like it was never used and was well stored over the years, very crisp.
This is a wonderful vintage windbreaker in an attractive colour and in great condition!
