This is an antique Victorian lace collar that is hand made in a combination of blue and ecru or beige colours.  I am not a lace expert, but I believe that the lace is Bedfordshire lace, which is a type of bobbin lace.  It is quite intricate and incorporates various motifs in the pattern.  It is quite a large collar, measuring 22” in width by about 12” in height.  This antique Victorian lace collar is in very good condition with practically no signs of wear - just a bit around the interior edge where it probably had originally been attached to a garment, really minor. 

This is a beautiful antique Victorian lace collar - I’ve included extreme close-ups, so please have a look at the complexity of the work, this would have taken many hours to complete!
