This features text by art historian John Wilmerding and a collection of sketches and paintings of Wyeths neighbour Helga Testorf. Wyeth painted Helga in secret from 1971 until 1985, often in the nude, and without telling either of their spouses. The collection went on exhibit in 1987 at the National Gallery of Art and then on tour and caused much controversy due to the circumstances of their creation. The book was published by Harry N Abrams Inc. New York, the first edition issued in 1987. Its impossible to ascertain whether this is a first edition first printing without opening the shrink.
