Vintage Aynsley Gold Orchard Fruit Cup & Saucer Signed D Jones Bone China

This is a gorgeous cup and saucer set made by Aynsley. The cup is decorated with the orchard fruit pattern on the exterior and has a solid gold interior. The saucer is also decorated similarly with a gold centre. Both are signed D. Jones. The mark on the underside of each piece was used between 1934 and 1939. Both pieces are hand inscribed with the pattern number C746. The set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or pronounced wear, but the interior gold has a lighter delineation, probably caused by the presence of liquid (see photos). In addition, there is a scratch on one side to the cup (see last photo, quite minor). The saucer measures 5 7/8 in diameter and the cup has a height of 2 1/4 with a top diameter of 4. Despite the small defects, this is a beautiful display cup and saucer, very rich with the gold interior and trim.
