Vintage 1950s Susan Gail NYC Accordion Handbag Purse - VFG

This is a wonderful 1950s, maybe early 60s, accordion handbag made by Susan Gail Handbags Inc. of New York City. The purse is made of leather and has a number of folds that in combination with an elongated hinged frame allows for expansion of the purse. It has a brass bamboo form handle and a spring loaded brass clasp. The purse is made in a squared form with a curved top. There is one side pocket on the interior and the original mirror is still present

Sizing: 8 in width and has a height of 8 at its centre, exclusive of its handle. The handle has a fall of 5.
Condition: This purse is in very good condition with with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour. The brass has worn at the top where it would have come into constant contact with the hand. In addition, there are a couple of small light surface scuffs, the most obvious to the bottom when expanded, really minor,
