This is a tea strainer and napkin ring, each affixed with the crest of the SS Empress of Australia, a passenger steamship operated by the Canadian Pacific Steamship Line. The ship was originally launched in 1913 for the Hamburg America line as the SS Tirpitz and sold to CP in 1919, renamed Empress of Australia in 1922. It should be noted that King George VI travelled to Canada in 1939 on the Empress of Australia rather than use the Royal Yacht, so the Empress was considered to be a royal yacht thereafter. During WWII she acted as a troop transport ship and never again saw service as a passenger ship - she was scrapped in 1952. The tea strainer is in very good condition with the exception of some tarnishing that could be cleaned while the napkin has lost most of its silver plating. The tea trainer measures 5 in length while the napkin ring has a diameter of 1 5/8.
