Large shoulder bag - 17 wide by 14 1/8 high, exclusive of strap
Raised needlepoint Colonial scene
Sold AS IS - wear to the leather tab closure, a few scuffs to the back, some edge fraying to the needlepoint
This is a fabulous vintage 1960s shoulder bag purse featuring a raised needlepoint front. The two Colonial period figures are stuffed so that they are raised against the background, a little hard to notice in the photos but definitely noticeable under actual viewing. The purse is made of leather, but the shoulder strap appears to be made of vinyl. The purse closes with a leather tab. The interior is lined in gold coloured moir fabric. There is one large compartment with a side pocket. The bottom is covered in shiny vinyl and edged in grosgrain ribbon.
Sizing: 17 by 4 1/2 at the bottom and 14 1/8 in heigh, exclusive of its shoulder strap - the strap has a drop of 13 1/2.
Condition: The biggest problem is the leather tab closure, which has edge wear and the lining is detached in the worn area (see last close-up photo). There are a few scuffs to the back of the purse - a polish will help this. Finally, there is a bit of fraying to the edges of the needlepoint (see second to last close-up photo), not too serious. The interior is clean and in very good condition.
Despite the wear, this is a fantastic purse - large size, attractive needlepoint, sold at a reduced price including shipping.sure to be noticed!
