Antique Childrens Book Gullivers Travels Jonathan Swift w Arthur Rackham Illustrations

This is an antique childrens version of the book titled Gullivers Travels by Jonathan Swift. The book was edited by F.C. Tilney for a childrens audience. it contains eight full colour illustrations by renowned illustrated Arthur Rackham and the book consists of 128 pages. It measures 7 1/8 by 5 1/2 closed. The book is in very good condition. It retains its gilt stamping on the brown board cover and the representative illustration of Gulliver being attacked by wasps. The main defects are a separation of the pages at page 81, corner bumps at the top corners of the book, foxing to the endleafs and the edge paper on page 78 and page 79 is improperly cut, but this is original to the making of the book - page 79 extends out while page 78 has a couple of indents. Otherwise, the spine is good and the rest of the interior is fairly clean - this is a very acceptable copy. The book was published J.M. Dent and Sons in London and E.P. Dutton and Co in New York. The book has an inscription on the front endleaf that reads Happy Xmas Greetings to George Xmas 1921 This is a very nice copy of this childrens book - wonderful coloured illustrations!
