This is an antique meat tenderizer, aka meat mallet or pounder, decorated in the Blue Onion pattern and with a turned wood handle. The Blue Onion pattern, aka Zwiebelmuster pattern, was originated by the Royal Manufactory of Meissen but was copied by a number of companies. Im unsure as to who made this meat mallet, but I would think that it dates to the 1910s and possibly may have been made by the Teichert factory. I think that it is made of an ironstone porcelain. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and with only some soiling to the top of the mallet. The mallet measures 3 1/8 in height and the toothed bottom has a diameter of 2 5/8. The handle has a length of 8 1/2.
Wonderful addition to a Blue Onion collection!
