The underside is marked underglaze with double crossed lines in blue underglaze, the mark of the CG Schierholz factory located in Plaue, Thuringia, Germany between 1860 and 1907. The Schierholz factory was founded in 1815 and controlled by the sovereign Gunther Friedrich Carl I who granted the operation of the factory to Christian Gottfried Schierholz. Eventually Schierholz gained control of the factory and the family retained control until 1972.
