Antique 1869 London & South Western Railway Warrant in Envelope Form

This is a dividend warrant issued by the London & South Western Railway for the year ending 1869. The warrant is printed as a self-contained envelope that opens up to reveal the statement. The portion to be retained by the proprietor is what remains - there is a perforated area from which the warrant payment would have been detached. The envelope measures 4 1/2 by 3 1/8 folded up and 7 by 8 opened up. The envelope has a number of postmarks as well as blind embossing that reads London and South Western Railway.
