This is a pure cashmere D’Avenza suit jacket or sport coat.  D’Avenza Roma, of course, is a highly regarded Italian tailor known for mass production of hand tailored garments (they no longer hand tailor, but this is an older jacket).  

This D’Avenza suit jacket is made in a classic style with medium width notched lapels, two shell button closure, four shell button cuffs, a flapped pocket at either side, a chest pocket and a flap vent at the back.  This D’Avenza suit jacket is fully lined in Bemberg, which is the brand name for cupro, a type of rayon that is made of regenerated cellulose fibres from cotton waste.  The cashmere exterior fabric on this D’Avenza suit jacket is extremely soft, and woven in a mix of white, blue and brown threading that gives an overall impression of grey.  The pattern features a broad white check.

Label: D’Avenza Roma Hand Tailored in Italy.  D’Avenza is an Italian menswear firm started in 1957 by the same Ackerman family that owned Chester Barrie of England.  Chester Barrie was considered to produce the highest quality ready-to-wear menswear, and the Ackermans combined their experience in ready to wear production with Italian hand tailoring at their d’Avenza factory.  D’Avenza tailoring is highly regarded due to close attention to detail and the use of superior materials.  It is considered to be just a cut below Brioni tailoring, which is some of the highest quality tailoring in the world. 

Sizing: Italian size 52 indicated on this D’Avenza suit jacket, which should be equivalent to a US size 42, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior:

Shoulders:  18 1/2” across

Sleeves:  25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17”

Chest: 46” around 

Waist: 42” around

Length: 31”, measured flat

Condition: This D’Avenza suit jacket is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours. It looks like it saw little use, and has been very well kept.
