This is a wonderful pre-owned dress that is silkscreened with a novelty print featuring images of Edie Sedgwick, famous as a model and actress used by Andy Warhol during the mid-1960s.  The dress was sold by Toronto boutique “Peach Berserk”, a local institution owned by Kingi Carpenter, who designs and prints her own fabrics and garments.  The store was located on Queen at Spadina but closed in 2012 - I believe that Carpenter still does custom orders however and also gives silkscreening workshops.  This dress probably is not technically vintage, but it is fabulous!  The print features various photo representations of Sedgwick, text that reads “Edie Sedgwick Superstar”, “Ciao Manhattan” and “Andy Warhol Superstar”, all in black against a bright pink background colour.  I believe that the fabric is silk.  The dress is lined and has a built-in slip that is trimmed with a few rows of black tulle, some of which is visible below the hemline.  It is sleeveless with spaghetti straps and has black tulle trimming the neckline with a black rosette positioned at the centre.  The back is low cut and the bodice is secured with straps at the back that cross and tie at the middle.

Label:  Peach Berserk.com

Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the style of the dress:

Bust:  35”-36” around, difficult to ascertain due to open back

Waist:  30” around

Hips:  Full, meant to fall loosely and flare out

Length:  41” long, measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, or odors - this dress looks to have seen little use and has been well stored.

This is a fun dress, unique and of nice quality - to be treasured as a collectible piece, great for the Edie Sedgwick fan!
