This is a wonderful pair of Joan & David Couture shoes made in a closed-toe sandal slingback style with open strap sides toe box. These Joan & David Couture shoes have a platform sole and chunky heel, which create a clog-sandal hybrid look. They come with their original box which reads “Lyre natural Vacceta $365” as well as “02/588 Country Col. 321 92 7M”. These came from the estate of a shopaholic who bought much more than she could ever wear, so these saw very little use.
Maker: Joan & David Couture shoes. Joan and David started their business in 1967 with a target market of working women who had to “run through an airport in heels”. Their strategy was to specialize in elegant shoes that were not high-heeled, for the business woman.

Age: late 1990s to early 2000s
Material: Vacchetta, which is a natural, Italian vegetable tanned calfskin leather, appreciated for its natural finish, rich patina and softness.
Sizing: These Joan & David Couture shoes are marked as a size 7 M. The insoles measure 9 1/4” from the tip of the toe to the very back of the insole. The soles measure 3” in width at the widest.
Condition: These Joan & David Couture shoes are in very good condition with no wear except for some soiling/wear to the soles, but this is quite minor. Otherwise, these look to have seen very little use and were well cared for over the years.
