Vintage Pink Silk & Lace Teddy Camiknickers Christine of Vancouver Unused NWT

This is a wonderful pink silk and lace teddy, also known as a “camiknicker”, never used, and in like-new condition.  The piece still has its hangtag, which reads “Christine and Company.” - this was acquired from the wife of a gentleman who was in the fashion industry and who was given this piece as a “sample”, I believe during the 1980s.  It has white lace applied to the bodice and lace trim along the bottom edges.  The crotch has three plastic snaps that open and close the bottom, so that there is no need to remove the teddy when using the washroom.  There is a decorative rosette and blue bow at the front waist and there are four covered buttons and loops down the front of the bodice.  The waist is slightly elasticized. 

Label:  Christine and Company Vancouver.  Christine Morton founded Christine and Company in 1973, first specializing in bridal silk lingerie and dresses, but then expanding into other silk garments.  Christine Lingerie still exists today and counts amongst its customers Oprah, Catherine Zeta Jones, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diana Krall, Christina Hendricks and Katie Holmes.

Sizing: The label indicates that this would fit a medium size, but please rely on the following measurements for fit taking the style of the piece into account:

Bust:  36” around

Waist: 24” around, stretched, but stretches out to 34” - comfortable fit would be somewhere in between

Hips:  38” around, but meant to fall loosely 

Length:  33”, measured flat from the top of the shoulder strap to the bottom of the crotch, and 18” from the top of the strap to the elasticized waist

Condition:  It is in excellent unused condition with no wear, tear or stains - this teddy is in original condition and has been well cared for and stored over the years.

This is a beautiful quality silk teddy - very unusual to find an unused example like this!
